- GHPCO and The American Hospice Foundation are pleased to offer a set of two educational tools for use by providers and the lay public. These tools are offered at a 30% discount for members of GHPCO!
- Coordinating Care at the End of Life
This self-study course offers 6.5 hours of continuing education credits for nurses and social workers and can be used for professional development of hospice staff and for marketing to hospice referral sources. The content focuses on communication skills to help clinicians discuss end-of-life issues with their patients and families. Offered on a CD-ROM, the course can be taken by any professionals on their personal computer at their leisure.
The course is offered in nine modules:
- Extraordinary Care by Extraordinary People
The second tool is a 6-minute DVD designed for the lay public and is ideal for viewing in the patient's home, a hospice IPU, hospital or a nursing home setting. This DVD can be used in community education programs to supplement onsite presentations or as a feature in exhibit booths. Hospices have marketed this DVD to local television stations and to hospitals for their closed circuit channels. (Permission for this type of use must be requested from American Hospice Foundation)
