Veteran Services and How to Access Them
November 4, 2022 9am - 3:30pm National Infantry Museum Columbus, GA Join us on 11/4/22 at the National Infantry Museum in Columbus, GA as we hear from the Georgia Department of Veteran Services. The GDVS exists to serve the veterans of Georgia and their families. The department offers a wide range of services and programs. This includes help with veteran benefits claims and support during the appeals process. The GDVS also offers skilled nursing home care and compassionate cemetery committal services. The department also oversees veteran education, on-the-job training, and apprenticeship training program management. Patricia Ross, Georgia Commissioner of Veterans Service, will be our keynote speaker to define and discuss available benefits, veteran issues in GA and issues specific to women veterans. Additionally, we will hear from a Death Doula who specializes in veteran end of life care as well as from representatives from Veteran War Homes who will identify Veteran War Home locations and process for admission as well as define National vs. State veteran burial benefits. Lastly, our agenda will include a guided tour of the Infantry Museum. |
